Webinar- US Elections Outlook: Impact on Latin America
Please join us to learn what businesses in Latin America may expect in the wake of the coming US 2020 elections. We will hear from The Cohen Group’s esteemed former Ambassadors Michael McKinley and Jeffrey Davidow, who will draw on their experiences in US foreign affairs and their deep knowledge of Latin America to discuss potential effects of this November’s election on the region. Ignacio Sanchez, Chair of DLA Piper’s Government Affairs group, will moderate this exciting panel. Mr. Sanchez brings a wealth of understanding of legislative and regulatory changes that affect companies with operations in Latin America.

Ambassador Jeffrey Davidow, The Cohen Group
Ambassador Jeffrey Davidow is a Senior Counselor at The Cohen Group. Ambassador Davidow has extensive experience in both Latin America and Africa, having served as US Ambassador to Mexico, Venezuela and Zambia. He headed the State Department’s efforts in Latin America while serving as Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs. He retired from the US State Department in 2003 with the rank of Career Ambassador, the highest position in the Foreign Service which, by law, can be help by no more then five individuals at one time.

Ambassador P. Michael McKinley, The Cohen Group
Ambassador P. Michael McKinley is a Senior Counselor at The Cohen Group. Over the course of his career in the US Foreign Service, Ambassador McKinley held senior leadership positions in missions in Latin America, Europe, Africa and Afghanistan. As a four-time Ambassador, he led some of the largest and most sensitive US embassies in the world as the US Ambassador to Peru (2007-2010), Colombia (2010-2013), Afghanistan (2014-2016) and Brazil (2017-2018). Ambassador McKinley helped conclude free trade agreements with Peru and Colombia, as well as the Open Skies Agreement with Brazil, and played a key role in the revival of the Defense Industry Dialogue with Brazil.
